Research and publishing standards

Editorial policy

Guides are written to help a reader make a better cost decision, not to fill a keyword slot.

Depth and competitor benchmark

Articles normally run 1,500–2,000 words when that is what intent needs. Competitive comparisons and multi-scenario technical guides may exceed 2,000 words when additional coverage adds decision value. Before drafting, we benchmark the current top results for the primary query, looking for their structure, freshness, sources, examples, visuals, calculator support, FAQ coverage, author signals and unanswered questions. We use this to identify gaps, not to copy language or headings.

Original evidence

Where useful, a guide includes an original calculation, source-linked assumptions, a step-by-step tool demonstration or a short working video. Facts that can change receive a source and update date. We distinguish a list price, an estimate and an observed invoice.

What we do not publish

We do not publish thin programmatic pages, keyword stuffing, fabricated testing claims, artificial paragraphs written to reach a word count, or competitor product links inside comparison content. We consolidate pages that have the same intent.
